Acupuncture and the Treatment of Spiritual Blocks

Although many people in the Western world don’t know it, acupuncture has a long history of working on the mind and spirit. Most Westerners assume that acupuncture is primarily used for treating musculoskeletal pain, joint stiffness, and possibly gastroinstestinal disorders such as nausea and constipation.
The main system associated with treating the mind and emotions is called five element acupuncture. This system postulates that each of us has a primary constitutional type that determines how we perceive reality.
For instance, a fire constitution will typically have challenges around intimacy, setting healthy boundaries, and feeling passionate about their life. A water constitution will often struggle with fear, anxiety, or an excess or lack of ambition.
Each element has an archetypal theme associated with it that serves as the ultimate influence for the aging process and our general state of health and well-being.
In order for disease to be effectively treated, the acupuncturist must acknowledge and then rectify any imbalance in this archetypal theme; otherwise, the treatment will only be palliative at best.
Another way of understanding acupuncture is that it balances the flow of Qi, or vital energy, in the body and mind. All symptoms are essentially manifestations of imbalanced, stuck, or deficient energy. Even severe emotional and mental imbalances are ultimately a rather extreme disruption in the body/mind’s regulation of vital energy.
Five element acupuncture asserts that the spiritual nature of each human being is innately whole, perfect, and incapable of being damaged in this life. The core intention behind spiritual acupuncture like the boulder acupuncture is to help the patient access their innate perfection by balancing the Qi and harmonizing constitutional imbalances.
This is analogous to a process in which we remember something that has been forgotten, as opposed to becoming something that we previously were not.
If you struggle with any form of psychological, emotional, or spiritual imbalance, then there’s a good chance that acupuncture, denver acupuncture can serve as a profound form of assistance, either as a standalone therapy or in conjunction with other modalities.
